Pool Caulk and Adhesives
Pool caulk can be used:
- Where fiberglass walls meet the concrete pool floor
- Under the swimming pool coping
- To fill in between the pool coping and concrete decks
- Stainless steel pools, etc.
The caulking compound used between the pool coping and the concrete deck is self leveling. In other words, it is runny. Be careful when using the pool deck joint compound in that it is messy. If you add too much it will run over the surface and it is very difficult to clean up. If you are using tubes of pool caulk make sure you have a clean dry surface. Make sure the pool caulk is cured before you fill the pool with water. To have a nice looking pool caulk job; gently wipe the caulk into place with your finger right after applying the pool caulk. Use a paper towel to wipe the pool caulk off of your finger.
Swimming pool caulking compounds aren’t a permanent solution. You occasionally need to scrape the pool caulk out and replace it. Make sure you use pool grade caulking compounds. Most caulk will not stand up to the pool environment, under water, chlorine, acids, etc.
BOSS® 801 is a one part, low odor, neutral cure, mildew resistant,
non-corrosive silicone adhesive/sealant.
